Turquoise waters, white sands and impressive landscapes make Greek beaches a dream vacation destination. In this article, we will introduce you to some of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Greece that you must visit.

1. Navagio (Shipwreck Beach), Zakynthos

Navagio, also known as Shipwreck Beach, is one of the most iconic beaches in the world. Located on the northwest coast of Zakynthos, this beach is only accessible by water or boat, which makes it even more exotic and mysterious. The waters are emerald and so transparent that you can see every pebble on the bottom. The white sand contrasts with the blue shades of the sea, creating a unique picture. In the center of the beach are the remains of a shipwrecked ship called Panagiotis, which adds additional charm to the place. The view of Navagio from the surrounding cliffs is unforgettable and ideal for photography.

2. Elfonisi, Crete

Elfonisi is one of the most famous and beautiful places on the island of Crete. This beach is located on the southwest coast and is distinguished by its unique pink sand, which is the result of microscopic shells of mussels mixed with the sand. Elfonisi is a protected area due to its biodiversity and rare plant species. The lagoon of Elfonisi is shallow and calm, ideal for families with children and for those looking for a relaxing swim. The waters are crystal clear and warm, and the scenery is simply magical.

3. Miri, Lefkada

Miri is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island of Lefkada. Located on the west coast, this beach offers incredible views and a peaceful atmosphere. Access to the beach is challenging, as you have to descend a steep path or reach it by sea, but the effort is worth it. The sand is fine and white, and the waters are emerald green and crystal clear. Miri is the perfect place for those seeking solitude and wanting to escape the crowds.

4. Balos, Crete

Balos is another perfect beach on Crete, located on the northwest coast. It is famous for its unique lagoon, which combines white sands and turquoise waters. Balos can be reached on foot, following a path through the mountains, or by boat from the nearby town of Kissamos. The lagoon is shallow and warm, ideal for swimming and relaxing. The landscape around the beach is wild and indescribably beautiful, with small islets and rocks that create a unique atmosphere.

5. Simos, Elafonisos

Simos is located on the small island of Elafonisos, which is located near the Peloponnese. The beach consists of two main bays – Megali Simos and Mikri Simos, which are connected by a narrow sandy isthmus. The golden sand and crystal clear waters make Simos one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. The beach is popular among camping enthusiasts and water sports lovers. The dunes and vegetation around give the place an exotic look, which is ideal for romantic walks and sunsets.

6. Sarakiniko, Milos

Sarakiniko is a unique beach located on the island of Milos, known for its white volcanic rocks and otherworldly landscape. The beach is formed by white volcanic rocks that have been smoothed by wind and water, creating incredible shapes and structures. Приключение в Мексико https://journeygroup.promobg.net/en/two-tickets-to-paradise/ Wed, 06 Mar 2024 11:42:00 +0000 https://bridge224.qodeinteractive.com/?p=122

Hello, adventurers! Welcome to another exciting chapter of our travels! This time, Journey Group headed to one of the most colorful and culturally rich destinations in the world – Mexico. Our team, consisting of experienced travelers, historians and adventurers, embarked on an epic adventure that will remain in our hearts forever. From the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan to the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean coast, this journey offered us unforgettable experiences and many exciting discoveries.

Getting started: Mexico City

Our adventure began in the capital, Mexico City, one of the largest and most picturesque cities in the world. Our first day was dedicated to exploring this dynamic and diverse city. We walked through the historic center, where the majestic cathedral and the famous Zocalo square welcomed us with their impressive architecture and historical significance.

We did not miss visiting the Palace of Fine Arts – a place where art and culture merge into one. Here we saw magnificent murals by famous Mexican artists such as Diego Rivera. At the National Museum of Anthropology we immersed ourselves in the history of the ancient civilizations that inhabited Mexico. Each exhibition told us the story of the Mayans, Aztecs and other great cultures, whose legacy is still alive in Mexican culture today.

The Pyramids of Teotihuacan

On the second day, we headed to one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the world – the pyramids of Teotihuacan. Located about 40 kilometers northeast of Mexico City, these majestic structures took us back in time, to the heart of one of the most mysterious ancient civilizations.

The climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun was a real challenge. The steps were steep, but the effort paid off many times over when we reached the top. From there, an impressive panorama of the entire ancient city opened up. The sun shone down on the valley, revealing the scale and grandeur of Teotihuacan. Our guides told us about the mysteries and legends associated with this ancient city, and also shared their hypotheses for its sudden disappearance.

Cultural wealth: Oaxaca

After an exciting day in Teotihuacan, our journey continued to the culturally rich city of Oaxaca. Here we immersed ourselves in Mexican traditions and customs. The city welcomed us with a warm atmosphere and lively streets full of markets, cafes, and handicraft shops.

We visited several local markets, where we tried traditional dishes such as tlacoyo, enchiladas and, of course, the famous mole sauces. Our taste buds were amazed by the richness of flavors and aromas. We also had the opportunity to learn about the process of producing mezcal, a traditional Mexican alcoholic beverage made from agave.

Nature Adventures: Honey River and the Canyons

After the cultural experiences in Oaxaca, we headed into the wilds of Mexico. We visited the Copper Canyon (Barranca del Cobre) – a huge canyon that is even bigger than the Grand Canyon in the USA. We climbed the steep paths, crossed suspension bridges and enjoyed incredible panoramic views. The waterfalls and exotic flora and fauna were a real treat for the eyes and the soul.

The Basaseachic Falls offered us a breathtaking view and the opportunity for a refreshing dip in their crystal clear waters. Our guides organized several hikes that took us to small, hidden lagoons and natural pools, where we enjoyed the tranquility and beauty of nature.

Puebla: Architecture and Culinary

From the Honey River we headed to Puebla, a city famous for its colonial architecture and Talavera ceramics. Puebla charmed us with its beautiful churches, monasteries and colorful streets. We walked through the historic center, where every building told the story of the past.

One of the most exciting experiences in Puebla was visiting one of the local cooking schools, where we learned how to prepare some of the most famous Mexican dishes. Under the guidance of a local chef, we prepared traditional tostadas, tacos, and, of course, the legendary mole poblano. We ended our culinary adventure with a tasting of a variety of pastries and desserts typical of the region.

End of the adventure: Caribbean coast

Our adventure ended with a visit to the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean coast. We stayed in Tulum, where we combined relaxing on the snow-white beaches with exploring ancient ruins located on the seashore. The city offered us a unique blend of ancient history and modern luxury.

We swam in the crystal clear waters of the cenotes – natural cave lakes formed by the collapse of limestone caves. The Cenotes Dos Ojos and Gran Cenote offered us an exceptional experience, diving into their underground waters and discovering the magic of the underwater world. We ended our adventure with a dive among the coral reefs of Cozumel, where the colorful underwater world left us breathless.

Our adventure in Mexico was an unforgettable experience, filled with new knowledge, exciting experiences and beautiful memories. The Journey Group team returns home enriched and inspired by what we saw and experienced. We thank everyone who follows our travels and hope that our story will inspire many more people to embark on their own adventures. See you soon for new meetings and new horizons!
