Day 1 | Welcome to Lisbon

Departure from Sofia Airport with a flight of Bulgaria Air at 7:40 p.m.

Arrival at Lisbon airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 | Lisbon Tour 

Breakfast.

Panoramic tour of Lisbon (included in the price): the Belem Tower - one of the symbols of Lisbon, declared a cultural monument under the protection of UNESCO; the Monument to the Discoveries, built in honor of Henry the Navigator, located at the mouth of the Tagus River; the Jerónimos Monastery, built in 1601, considered a masterpiece of Portuguese Manueline art; the Baixa district, rebuilt after the devastating earthquake in 1755, the Restauradores, Rossio and Comercio squares. Free time in the city, with the opportunity to walk in the old Alfama district, with the typical Portuguese small, picturesque streets filled with restaurants and artisan shops, where the St. George's Fortress is located; the Bairro Alto district, famous for its nightlife and wonderful panoramic views

Day 3 | Obidos – Batalla – Nazare – Fatima

Breakfast. Free time or optional full-day excursion to Óbidos, Nazaré, Fátima and Batalha – a day during which you will visit some of the most famous tourist sites in Portugal. Departure to Fátima. After the „Sun“ miracle of 1917, Fátima became the main religious center of Portugal and a famous destination for pilgrims from all over the world.

The town tells us the story of the three shepherds with whom the Virgin Mary shared secrets important for humanity. Visit to the monastery in Batalha (under the protection of UNESCO) - a magnificent monument of national architecture and one of the greatest Gothic masterpieces in Europe.

Construction began in 1386 in honor of the oath that King João I made to the Holy Virgin - that he would build a magnificent monastery if he defeated the Castilians in the Battle of Aljubarrota.

Departure to Nazaré, which in the past was a small fishing village, and nowadays is a popular resort with wonderful beaches, delicious cuisine, famous for the biggest waves in the world, mastered by a surfer.

Obidos – the city of queens will transport you to a traditional Portuguese village with its typical white houses, craft workshops, souvenir shops. You will be able to try the famous „Ginginha“, served in chocolate cups.

Day 4 | Sintra and Cabo da Roca

Breakfast. Free time or optional full-day excursion to Cabo da Roca, Sintra and Cascais.

Departure to Cabo da Roca – the westernmost point of continental Europe, a sacred place where the land ends and the sea begins.

After a short photo break, the excursion continues to Sintra. It is no coincidence that Sintra is called the "Garden of Paradise of Portugal" - in addition to its charming nature, it also amazes with its rich architecture - castles, aristocratic palaces and monuments. Opportunity to visit the "Palacio Nacional Sintra" - the palace was the official residence of the royal family until the beginning of the 20th century OR visit the "Quinta de Regaleira" estate - one of the most mystical places on earth. It impresses with its wonderful park with numerous lakes, caves, springs, fountains and statues.

But the most mysterious things are hidden underground - a system of tunnels, among which is the mysterious "Well of Initiation" - an inverted 27-meter tower with a spiral staircase, which symbolizes the allegory of death and rebirth. A walk in Cascais - fascinates with neat pedestrian streets, beautiful gardens and a long coastline.

Day 5 | Coimbra – Abeiro-Porto

Breakfast. Check-out from the hotel. Departure to Coimbra – often called the „University Capital of Portugal”.

It is home to the oldest university in the country and one of the oldest higher education institutions in the world. The main attraction is the Joanina University Library, which houses more than 300,000 books.„

Free time in the Old Town of Coimbra, where narrow streets wind down the hill and lead through numerous arches from the Cathedral to Baixa (the commercial part of the city) and the Church of the Holy Cross, where the body of the first king of Portugal, Alfonso Henriques, is laid. Next, visit Aveiro - a town dotted with numerous canals (reminiscent of Venice), along which people move by boat. It is distinguished by dazzling color contrasts, typical of the Scandinavian countries. Departure to the Porto region.

Day 6 | Porto

Breakfast. Tourist program in Porto (included in the price) - the second largest city in Portugal, included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Historical Heritage List: São Bento Station, richly decorated with Portuguese azulejos, tells about historical moments, traditions, rituals, crafts associated with Northern Portugal; Torre dos Clérigos (Clergy Tower) - the tallest tower in Porto, erected in one of the central areas of the city; Porto Cathedral - one of the oldest buildings in the city, rising above a rocky slope, with a wonderful panoramic view of the old Ribeira district.

From here, along the medieval streets with granite houses from the 12th century, you reach the coastal street. Possibility of a mini-cruise on the Douro River (about 50 minutes, in suitable weather conditions, paid on site - 18 euros).

View of the Don Luis I Bridge – the most attractive of the 6 bridges on the Douro River, built by a student of Gustave Eiffel himself. Opportunity to visit a wine cellar and taste the world-famous Port Wine – a fortified, liqueur-like wine typical of Portugal

Day 7 | Braga - Guimarães

Breakfast. Free time or optional full-day excursion to Braga and Guimarães – the most colorful province of Portugal, the „green Minho“. Braga is a beautiful medieval city, full of history, many churches and monasteries.

Visit the cathedral and the old part of the city. Photo break near the monastery complex "Bom Jesus do Monte" ("All-Merciful Jesus").

This temple is located on top of a hill, whose Baroque staircase consists of 17 platforms, decorated with chapels, beautiful fountains and sculptures. In the lowest part of this Baroque staircase you can see images of the suffering of Christ on the cross, the middle level is dedicated to the five senses, and the top - to the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love. Departure for Guimarães - a medieval ensemble included in the UNESCO World Heritage List: St. Jacob Square and the pilgrimage church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira. Return to the hotel.

Day 8 | Departure

Check-out from the rooms. Departure to Lisbon – free time in the city.

Transfer to Lisbon airport for Bulgaria Air flight at 11:00 PM. Arrival in Sofia early the next day.
